My avatar reflects my respect for the Red Army soldier. My signature is more on a tongue in cheek tone, showing Mr. Chavez making a fool of himself, and a John Wayne quote which I find amusing. It depends on my mood. ;)

My avatar was chosen out of respect and admiration for the British Tommy, brave and courageous with a firm granite jaw! :ukflag[1]:

Could I ask the "powers that be" to attach the 78 Div Flash (The Golden Battleaxe) to my own avatar?

It was, after all, the flash that I wore between April 1943 and December 1944

    Many thanks

    Ron

Ron - don't know if you are aware, but we have another 78th Div veteran on the forum 'Lustleighlad' who fought with 5th Northants 1943-44 until he was wounded at Faenza. He was active again recently; am sure he would like to hear from you.

    Cor !!!!!!!, there's service for you !!!!!!
Now all it wants is my original Avatar on the left hand side of the 78 Div Flash (to signify my latter role of a 4th Hussar man) and I will make no further demands :) :) :)
    Many thanks

My Avatar reflects my sincere, comsumate and BLOODY OVERWHELMING frustration that 90% of the so-called 'features' on my wonderful ansd expensive VISTA...I will never use in a million years...

The day that I can walk into to my house, and just tell this bloody thing that which I wish it to do...that will be a great day. Site-users on my old website at silent hunter 4, used to say,...

'You know you're hooked when you find yourself perched on the toilet and hollering "Tube no.1....FIRE!"....don't laugh, some of those guys actually had it set up like that...they were constantly "tweaking' both the game and their computers.....I struggled just to run a 'patch' or a modification....

I'm not what you would probably call 'stupid', and I can absorb things very quickly, and spit them out after analysis just as fast....There is a lot I can do with words, and information...

But THESE BLOODY COMPUTERS defy logic at timesa...built by GEEKS , so only other geeks will really understandf how they operate. I'm dead sure that this is some kind of social ostracism for everybody else...oh no, lets not make it simple at all, lets make it as unreachable as possible, and furthermore put in a bunch of twitty features that you never use, wouldn't know what they were for...and furthermore , lets design the software so that consumer twits like me have to keep up-dating the bloody thing.....

My Signature in in memory of my Great Uncle, served on the HMS Dorsetshire. He wasn't able to get married before setting out on his last cruise, so he died without any heirs (or even a grave I believe). He was not much older than me ( he was early 40's) when he died.

HMS Dorsetshire, County class heavy cruiser, was the ship that sunk the Bismarck (with some help from HMS Rodney, HMS King George V, & HMS Victorious!) Lost off Ceylon in 1942 with HMS Cornwall in the Japanese "Indian Ocean Raid"

    Lest we forget

Ok its simple, whats your avatar about or why did you choose it.

Mine relates to the 250th Anniversary of the founding of the Guinness Brewery in Dublin. We had glasses of stout for me and the missus and little shot glasses of stout for my 3 kids.

So whats the story behind your current avatar?
