    Andy,

Here you go. It could be another John Howard, of course, but at least I'd know one way or the other!

Mine is my dad, photographed at the end of the Italian campaign in 1945 just before he left 24th Field Regiment RA. He was bound for India for glider training, to drop in a FOO team for the invaison of Japan. Thankfully that never happened.

Mine's the insignia of one of my personal hero's - the Hussard de la Mort, The french fighter Ace and (possibly) the first aviator (along with his navigator Francois Coli) to fly the Atlantic (to be yet proven) - Charles Nungesser.

Mine is the shoulder patch for the 76th Infantry Division, my grandfather's division. He was in the 417th Infantry Regiment, Co. C.
The division's battle cry was "Onaway!" Which in addition to the aforementioned also explains my screen name.

Recently changed mine to a view of Stirling from the top of Dumyat hill. A few feet below the camera lie memorial plaques to the 7th & 8th Bns Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders, the castle being the RHQ. There is also a giant concrete replica of the regiment's cap badge on site too.

I use a favorite British Commonwealth war poster...the Commonwealth fighting together.

At other places, I use a road sign from "Shield Up!" web page of US 22 West, which is the main highway near where I live and the number of former Yankee pitching ace Roger Clemens when he was with the ballclub.
