Hello, I've only just registered for this site so have only just seen your question. Hopefully you've now got the answer but in case you haven't, the link below is to the BBC's Press Office web site & gives the official press releases that accompanied the series.

And the episode titles and subjects follow the chapters and chapter titles of the companion book by Laurence Rees, the series producer, which I would certainly recommend fo rthe school library.

By the way, this thread may have been missed at the time it was started because it is posted under Concentration Camps not Exrermination Camps.

The Auschwitz complex was both, but in this context it was an Extermination Camp, which is why wou will find the stuff written at the time the series was screened at:

Yes, I believe Christopher Browning points out how men tried to get out of the horrific duties. I think liquor, loot, and the profligacy of women kept the men manning their machine-guns.

I have not read the book, and need to get it.

Welcome to the new guys. You'll learn a lot here.

It's incredible to deal with, but it's all true.

Recently broadcast on the BBC this series now available on DVD looks at the history of Auschwitz, from its growth to support German giants such as IB Farben to its ultimate use as a killing centre.

I recomend getting the DVD on this as I have but I also strongly recomend reading the paperback of the series by Laurence Rees, its a grpping, no holds barred and harrowing insight to the camp.

    Published by BBC books.

Bloody was not my impression of the book, although it was hard hitting. I always prefer the books to the tv productions. But I watched the whole series twice and it was not too bad.
