Auction of the estate of the late Richard Todd (The Dam Busters)

At the risk of spamming (which isn't my intention), I wanted to let everyone know that the estate of the late Richard Todd (star of The Dam Busters) is being auctioned over the next few weeks on eBay by Vintage V. These items should go to a collector or museum, which is why I wanted to let your members know. We run a shop in Peterborough dedicated to selling wartime collectibles and the collection has been passed over to us to find a good home.

Items will include personal effects, clothing, an original oil painting and a signed letter to Richard from Barnes Wallis.

At the moment we are still going through two cases of items and photographing and cataloging everything. It will probably take another two weeks to complete. As soon as I know I will post here with more information.

Richard Todd was in the paratroopers during WWII and he fought with great distinction with them, more notably he fought at Arnhem in Holland in 1944, it was a military failure and cost the lives of many allied soldiers it has been depicted as The bridge too far. Information on this actors contribution to the heroic actions that took place there are somewhat scarce.
