They didn't liked that he asked money for his Battlefield tours, and the other that he didn't told the true story as how he got wounded.

Fun, we get off topic Philip. but that he lied about how he got wounded is not good. In any case, he used to walk around with a loaded pistol and he guarded the Airborne Cemetery very well as there was much theft. Those were the daysWould not be possible now!!! Back to Arnhem Photo's!!!!!!! Ron
Hi all, I am in the process of trying to create as many "Then & Now" pics of Arnhem and Oosterbeek as I can using the old photos I have and 'GoogleEarth Streetview'. I was wondering if I should post them up here or maybe start a new thread, any ideas? As an example here are a few of the ones I've done already. All the best..................

Paul, that's great, if you need any help with a 'Now Photo ' let me know. Ron
Thanks Ron that's very good of you. I think I'll just put the pics on Photobucket and then provide a link as they don't seem to 'come out' very well here. All the best............
Well I figured out that this is Benedendorpsweg 11! Great Pics, I assume the window shutters and doors were removed by the Germans after the Battle and used for trenches and to block the sight from the other side of the river along that road. Those wooden window shutters were quite common then. Here a Pic from that road, the rhine is on the right hand side but you can't see it, the view is blocked..... http://www.ww2talk.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=139&pictureid=1650 Ron
Yes thats right, several photos of the westerbouwing proof that. Im not sure about the shutters from Benedendorpsweg 11 Ron, but yes they could be used that way. The view hasnt changed that much today as can be seen in the attachment below. Are you actually the owner of http://www.market-garden.info Ron?
This is one thats no longer there, it was in this house which we visit many years ago with Gnr Dicky Bird, as he was in it during battle, that in the cellar we found dropping basket. the house stood on crossroads Kneppelhoutweg/Rozenpad/Hoofdlaan

Ohright, well last time I was on that site there wasnt copy right protection on the photos, but now there is unfortunatly:p You have some very nice photos of Oosterbeek on it, how did you get them? do you actually have the rights on these photos?
2010 is een mooi jaar om Nederlands te leren Ja, maar, er komt weer een nieuwe spelling in 2015 If they'd only leave the spelling alone for a few years, I'd promise to try harder !
Ohright, well last time I was on that site there wasnt copy right protection on the photos, but now there is unfortunatly:p You have some very nice photos of Oosterbeek on it, how did you get them? do you actually have the rights on these photos? Well, I have bought all the photo's on the site in the past. It is also so that many photo's were published as postcards, this goes back to 1945. So, what is on the site is in my possession and not copied out of books or other sites. If someone wants a pic they just have to send me a mail. I protected it only because I had to pay a nice som of money for all the items on the site and dont want anybody to copy everything without permission(although there are always ways to copy the things). I don't think there is any copyright by others on my site but if so I will remove the pic. Ron
Ohright Ron, I was wrong with another site having the same photos, but not protected. I wasnt trying to accuse you of anything. I was just wondering how you got them and how you got the rights on them, but I wrote it a bit messed up.
Those(2), where you have seen the photo's, are old sites of mine, they will expire soon You can check site owners with this link. https://www.iwhois.com/ Some site owners have the whois information protected, but that cost money. Ron
