I'm helping to gather as much information as possible, including photographs of missing servicemen from the battle. The result will be a Roll of Honour (RoH) for those who have no known grave.

I'd be grateful if you could PM me with details so I can establish contact with next of kin.

    Hi Tom

Have they considered the missing men files at Kew?

    Cheers

Have you looked in the book called Battle of Arnhem Roll of Honour as this already includes details of those with no known grave and where known details of how they died..for example page 101 Private Ronald Moon 20/09/44 Private Moon was killed in the back garden of Dr Niekerk's house (or an adjoining garden) Eusebiusbinnensingel 18 by a tracer bullet or shrapnel in the head. No known grave. Perhaps a better idea might be to put up a plaque at the Arnhem Oosterbeek War Cemetery with the names of those with no known grave and commemorated at Groesbeek..... The book I've mentioned will be a great help to you as you can just use the information in it....Good luck with your efforts.....

Those with their ear to the ground would know an Information Panel listing the names of those "Known unto God" and those commemorated at Groesbeek has already been suggested, and a considerable amount of work already done, However the original plan fell at the last hurdle, never the less it is still an ongoing idea and is being be actively pursued.
