Anything on the 1st A&H when they formed 33 beach brick for operation Husky, between 28 June and 27 July 1943 would be of great interest.

    Many Thanks Brian

Sorry. I didin't mention that my question was about 2nd battalio. A&SH. I don't have a War diarie, but some of the battalion history books that where atached to the 15th Scottisch division.

If you could verify that these guys who were at the Rennes Military Hospital were part of the Argyls and which battalion I would be grateful.

I found another guy with reported differently but has the Argyl Service Number. If you could check on him too that would be great. The differences between the entries is that one is from the Allied Admission & Dispositions log and the other from the German Admissions & Disposition Log.

Thank you for the kind offer but my interest with the A&S is just June and July 1943 during later stages of preparation and first steps on the invasion of Sicily - prior to the move from Beach Brick to front line.

    Thank you Brian

    Hi there
If you're still making trips and offering your services I would like anything from the 8th battalion A&S H. Anytime between Feb 1940 and March 43. I have the war diaries and the Regimental History but if there are any pictures or other items of interest that would be great.
My grandfather fought with the 8th Argylls during that time. I have received a reissue of all his medals but we have no pictures of him so anything related to the battalion would be great. I want to mount the medals with some sort of picture. If it helps I also know he was part of Y company during his service. He was wounded at Hunt's gap on 3/3/43 and that ended his time with the Argylls.

Another thing I'd love to see if it exists is a picture of the battalion football club between November 1940 through to July 1942. He was a midfielder and played in approximately 15 documented football matches on their way to losing in the final of the Scottish Command Army Football cup in '42. I wonder if the museum has anything related to that?

Anyhow let me know if you're still going to the museum. I'd appreciate any help
Lastly, how do you deliver the items? I live in Canada (near Toronto Ontario).

Looking forward in hearing from you
    Jamie
