Archie Baird, Pow in Italy and Scottish football star

    I can't find a mention of Archie on this forum, so I thought I'd let you know that I have found his autobiography, published in the 80s. After his footballing career was over he became a journalist and it really shows in his writing which is wonderfully readable and full of insights into prison life and the Italian peasants who sheltered him

    The book is called:

    Family of Four: The Extraordinary Autobiographical Tale of One Man's Escape from Wartime Imprisonment and His "Adoption" by an Italian Peasant Family
