I think there was a recent court case that should affect this? I am not sure this has been updated?

    All the best

    Hi everyone

I have a historian/researcher in Greece who is interested in accessing two collections. Unfortunately neither of which are at Kew.

Firstly Private Papers of Field Marshal Sir Henry Wilson GCB DSO

Private Papers of Field Marshal Sir Henry Wilson GCB DSO

He would like copies of the ms Diaries when he was CIGS, specifically 1919, 1920 and 1921. If this is too large a task, he would be happy with just 1920.

He is specifically looking for any information on military policy & operations following the First World War in the Middle East and any correspondence with Winston Churchill and/or Marshall Foch. Specifically 1919, 1920 and 1921.If this is too large a task, he would be happy with just 1920.

Secondly this is from the Churchill archive, one I am unfamiliar with or have access to.

    CHAR 8/259

Anyone who is interested in doing this or need more information please let me know by PM and I will put you in touch with my contact in Athens.

    Gus

    Hi,

I'm looking for information on the location of 53rd Worcestershire Anti Tank Regiment between April and November 1943. and where they were when renamed the 53 Worcestershire Air Landing Light Regiment and where they did the training leading up to D-Day between November 1943 and June 1944.

I have found references to the relevant war diaries in the National Archives, but only want the info for those particular dates, as that's when my Grandfather was with the regiment.

If someone has a copy of the pages of the war diary, or can make a copy, i'd be grateful.

    Thanks
    Caroline

    Hello everybody,

For a book on the deming of the Netherlands by German POW's I'm looking for a few War Diaries.
Does anyone have the following war diaries or is anyone able to consult and photograph them? Of course for a fee! I have mainly focused on the German sources, but for my new book the British sources are indispensable. Many thanks in advance!

We have a few members who copy war diaries at Kew for a reasonable fee. Lots of members have used them in the past.
I'm sure they'll be along soon to help.

    Deedale,

Are you aware of this book: 'Ours was not the Glory' by a Peter Johnstone who served in 152 Battery, 93rd Anti-Tank Regt, RA (Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders) in Italy? A 2021 post by Ray57.

From a 2011 post by Steve Mac two books which he had:
    History of the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders, 6th Battalion 93rd Anti-Tank Regiment, R.A. (A & S H) (William Pratt Paul, 1949)

    History of the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders, 9th Battalion 54th Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment, R.A. (A & S H) (Lt Col F R P Barker, 1950)
