Not for 2012 but have three planned for 2013 if anyone is interested.

22-25 Mar 13 - Garigliano and Anzio to look at the activities of 5 and 56 BR Inf Divs and 1 BR Inf Div.

14-17 Jun 13 - Cassino to look at the four battles.

27-30 Sep 13 - Salerno to look at VI (US) Corps and X (BR) Corps.

    Regards

Well we're 3/4 of the way through the year & I havent been to a single cemetery or old battlefield* so far this year.
Hardly read any WW2 books either.
Nothing else planned for rest of year either.
Still enjoy looking at where the rest of you have been though.

    * just remembered did go to Basing House earlier this year.

Given the anniversary, I plan to visit some War of 1812 battle sites in the Niagara peninsula in October. Followed by some wine tasting!

With 10 days of the year left I can confirm that this still stands.
apart from reading a few POW books.
My least doing war-stuff year ever, apart from helping out on the forum.
    Nothing planned for 2013 either.

I had planned a trip to the WW1 battlefield of Cambrai - but had to store it. Instead I was involved in a three-day BFT on Op Plunder with Dutch Army Officers in October (Op Turnscrew or the Rees Bridgehead (day 1), Op Torchlight & Varsity (day 2) and finally Flashpoint - the 30 US Inf. Div's sector) ...and a small BFT at Moyland Wood last week.

Next year we've planned a three-day BFT on 6. Panzer Army in the Ardennes 44/45. A lot of pictures!!

I hope to be visiting Goebbels villa in January. Not a battlefield but still very excited about the visit.

Might want to go south of Berlin : Old Airfield Rangsdorf (where Stauffenberg landed) and Zossen: Bunker Komplex Wünsdorf (Zeppelin/Maybach).. tours around 13:00 or 14:00 hrs

    Well worth the tour money.

    Interesting facts:
    1) All of the Poland, Western and Barbarossa planning campaigns were developed here..by all the big generals (including stauffenberg in his "pro-Führer" years) including many of the anti-Hitler generals of the 44 Attentat. Makes it feel very eerie.
    2) The above ground bunkers had to look like houses (which is not strange, French and Dutch etc did the same thing) but these "thatched"houses are HUUUGE.
    3) Massive underground complex ..later used by the soviets during cold war... incredible sizes.
    4) The complex was never (or at least not hard) bombed by alllied bombers or special bunker bombs (Tall boy...etc.). Why ?
