Hi people, I have recieved word that photographs have been taken of all three graves...i will get the pics tommorow..... Donnie
Isn't the internet a peculiar thing. When the other half and I were photographing bomb disposal graves for Pete we were impressed at how it couldn't be organised in such a penny-packet but effective manner without the web. For one man it'd be a lifetime's work, but now small teams can cooperate easily and get the job done in a few years. This thread's an exceptional example, a step closer to one day soon being able to find a picture of any resting place after a few clicks. I love it. Cheers, Adam.
Too true. The internet crosses and compliments all borders. How many times have you said to someone? I was speaking with a Russian or Polish or Italian or "Alabamian" or Canadian or ...............guy or girl last night and ...........or this 90 year old war veteran ........... truly amazing...............! I spoke to a chap last week when having a coffee and one thing led to another and "voila". He has relatives in Ghana and is getting the photos from Takoradi and Christiansborg cemeteries for me.

Owen Very frustrating but it means I will have to try and go myself! unless of course its on your list of many places you will be visiting! HEHE! Donnie, glad you got the pics you asked for, just goes to show how great 'tinternet is at times, although when it goes on a b****y go slow I do sometime say things to it I shouldnt! Regards to all
i have been thinking about trying to get over there at some point....(not for some time though). Im sure Owen will happily travel out there for the greater good of the forum Donnie
I have been to Tunisia, back in '94. We (the then future Mrs D & myself) went to Port El Kantaoui as it was our second holiday abroad together we didn't do any WW2 stuff. Although I did read Bravo Two Zero & Fighting Wessex Wyverns around the pool & on the beach. Mrs D isn't that keen on going back so maybe, we could arrange a forum trip over there. We'll see how Paul & I get on after a week in Italy first.
Donne Just a public thank you and apology for not having said thank you quicker but not been around much the past week. I have PM'ed you my email. Again many thanks Steve
Hi guys, Sorry to drag this thread up again.....but one of the if not the biggest reason for getting a picture of my Great Uncles grave was to show my other Great Uncle Eddie (who had a great 90th birthday party at the golf club last week) and my grandad ( Williams last surviving brothers) the pictures of where he had finnaly been laid to rest. Anyway...today the pictures were taken up to show him and he was delighted though a bit sad....Well....i thought that this is the true ending to the thread...many thanks to everyone on the forum who participated. I hope you like the pictures. (my grandad is on the left and Eddie is on the right) Donnie
This is great that all of this has been sorted out. Well done guys and I see that two older Gents are very happy with the info which makes it all worthwhile!
