Hi guys, do any members have the skills to colourise 2 photos with the correct colours for a image of a Handley Page Halifax flying over the countryside and a portrait photo of a pilot please? We need them for a commemorative plaque we are producing for a pilot buried in our local cemetery. We do have a small budget for the project so we can pay someone, or donate to a charity of their choice. Hope you can help, best wishes, Mark.

Nothing wrong with b/w but want to see what the images look like colourised. Also doing a greyscale set and a sepia set, then going to decide what looks the best. Mark.

    Hi Mark,

I know you`re asking on this forum for obvious reasons but I think it`s a bit of a "marmite" subject here. I wonder, have you tried on Face Book as there are some excellent people on there who do wonders with some images?

If you take a look at the following page you can see a lot of examples from different people. They usually put their mark on the photo`s so you have plenty of scope to find more of their work and then ask prices.

There was one guy I used to follow and he was extremely good at getting skin tones and the like spot-on, but I cut back on the number of groups I was following and forget his name right now. If it comes to me in the next day or so I`ll drop you a link.

Hope this is of some use.

    Mark,

I remembered the guy I was following on Face Book, here`s a link:

    Historic photo restored in color

I haven`t used him so it`s not a personal recommendation; more that I thought his work stood out from some of the many who do this kind of thing.

    Regards,

    John

    Works for me.
I have to admit they are rather well done , far better than some of the awful ones I've seen.
