    Hello,

Does anyone out there have or know of any battalion photographs for the 8th Parachute Battalion prior to deploying for D-Day ?

I have found other Parachute Battalion photos but none for the 8th of which my Dad, Sgt Reginald Giles was part of and dropped on D-Day.

Thanks in advance for any new information

    Bill

The other photos you mention, you mean ones out in the world/internet already?

Yes, I’ve searched on internet but I know there are a number of “experts” out there who sometimes have access to their material/books who have helped in the past

    Hi Bill,

If you mean a Battalion group photo taken prior to D-Day I don't think I've ever seen one for 8 Para. Surely one must have been taken?

    Regards ...

    Hi Cee,

You have previously helped me with your knowledge in my quest to get as much information about my father Sgt Reginald Giles

Like you I can’t believe there are no photos of the battalion before D-Day, here’s hoping someone out there knows different !!

    Thanks

    Bill

    Hello Bill
It's been a good while since this thread but I wonder if you managed to find any photographs of the 8th battalion. My grandad was part of the battalion and dropped at DDay.

I do have a company photo of 'A' Company 8th Battalion in Palestine post war if that helps. Nothing for WW2 I'm afraid.

    Cheers
