Anybody know what the "Date of Dispatch of A.F.W.3000 to Protecting power of I.R.C.C." is and the reference AM9964

This relates to paperwork from a German POW in the UK.

An A.F.W 3000 I believe is a record of the prisoners journey through the system . I think its the British equivalent of the German Cards (NA WO416)
    The cards state

"To be completed by O.C. unit and retained by him until the prisoner is transferred. When the prisoner is transferred, Part I
will be handed to the escort for delivery to the new place of internment"

Personal details camps from capture ,dates, transfers and the card records the PoWs place of birth too. Each establishment adds a stamp to this card as proof of stay. There`s an Italian PoW example here on Pgs 9 & 10

The proper title seems to be
"Descriptive report of Enemy Prisoner of War (pads of 100)"

there is also AFW3000M which is the same but for "incapacitated" POWs

    vitellino and papiermache like this.
