I know I tend to use this forum solely as a source information, but I have found it invaluable as I try to get a handle my father's wartime service. Like many others I didn't think to ask him when he was alive. Anyway, for my next question... could someone tell what 'B.A.D.' is, as written below? My guess is that it is something to do with an 'A'mmunition 'D'epot 29/5/1940 @ 0945 - Preaux Coy commander attended conference CRASC. Visited Support Group HQ. Awaiting supply of 40mm ammunition. None at No.3 B.A.D. St. Saens. Supply ammunition and petrol systems working smoothly. Once again, any help is greatly appreciated.
No. 3 Base Ammunition depot at St Saens - the big one Have a look at page 252 on this link :- HyperWar: The War in France and Flanders 1939–1940 [Chapter XVII]
Excellent, thanks a million... and very much appreciated. No doubt I'll be back with more questions later, or perhaps I should just post the whole 1940 SP.GP. war diary (such as it is) on this forum and just pop back once in a while to check its transcription.........now that's a thought!! Cheers
Hi Les, I thought this page maybe of interest to you. Taken from WO 167/126 Let me know if there is anything specific you want me to keep an eye out for in the higher formations. Adj. and QM files seem to contain quite a bit of information on RASC units for obvious reasons. Cheers Andy
