Quite a few other sports have different rules for professionals and amateurs. Except for one try, The long snappers have done their job. FYI. The long snapper is the player who's only job with the team is to throw the ball backward between their legs on punts and field goals. They are the lowest paid player $165,000/season with annual raise per the union agreement. They tend to have longest careers in a game where the average career is 3 years. They can deliver the ball with the laces facing whatever way the person catching the ball prefers.
Well I stayed awake, and despite not being a fan of them I was disappointed the Bengals couldn't find a way to at least get to overtime (extra time to us). And being a Saint's fan there's no way I can applaud the Rams of course - especially after they did get a flurry of yellow flags that assisted in them getting the go ahead touchdown. I am always amazed at how a defensive unit can be so strong for the majority of a game, really keeping a limit on what the opposing QB and co can do when they have the ball with seeming ease, then when they have to hold them up for the last two minutes (or less) they somehow just cannot stop them. Seemed that way with the Bengals last night. Gary
The flypast was not seen by me on the BBC2 chat show preview, and US telly viewers complained that only 3 or 4 seconds was seen in the home country. Perhaps I nodded off during the chat. Neither did I see the national anthem. The main ITN news this evening showed excerpts from the half-time show. The BBC had made a fuss about the event in news programmes before the event, not surprisingly, since the BBC hosts the coverage from the US broadcaster. The US Air Force has its 75th anniversary this year so had a Mustang in the five aircraft fly over: all different aircraft. Screenshot from the footage showing the aircraft and the roof of the stadium. ps:// www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NPz8OloS6I
That's right. Three or four seconds at the most in the states. I had to rewind to notice the Mustang. Can't take away commercial time.
It was Jordan Davis running his 40 yard at the NFL Combine. He did 10' 3" in the standing broad jump. Going to be a lot of broken quarterbacks next year. https://twitter.com/i/status/1500218986918731781
Its always great when football season returns. We dont get ESPN anymore in Ireland, which is a pity because I used to love watching College Football. But the NFL is still shown so Sunday nights I'm in front of the TV cheering on the Raiders (and more than likely watching them fail!!!)
I have been following the Raiders since 1983. So I feel your pain. Week 2s loss was one of the worst since the Eagles in 1986. Cut me, and I bleed silver and black!
Me too, Dave. Followed them from 83 as well!!! Great minds think alike (Or perhaps fools seldom differ!!!)
I think she said: "It's just not cricket, my dear." AFC EAST Buffalo Bills 4 1 0 New York Jets 3 2 0 Miami Dolphins 3 2 0 New England Patriots - Sick as a parrot, again. We could do with some draws. 2 3 0
We won against another team, but still bottom ( Patriots ) ( Nobody cares, I know. ) In the meantime teams you've never heard of will play against other unknowns in the FA Cup first round "proper" ( real football ). This is "romantic", which means the BBC broadcast live football ( they do not do this usually because they don't have the money to pay for top football matches ) which is guaranteed to be very dull, but could be "giant killing." Unlikely. Very. Makes cheap telly to produce and lots of pundits standing on touchlines getting cold waving microphones with large foam covers on their tops saying how romantic it is. Top mismatch is to be Cheltenham Town versus Alvechurch. Their grounds are only 44 miles apart. That is proper football nuttiness. It's giant-killing ! ( and romantic.) Just thought you should know.
