Version 2 of the Allied Vehicle Names and Census Number Listing covering Pre, WWII and Post War names. The MMP site PDF link is currently working and hopefully the direct PDF link will be updated. In the mean time here is the MMP site link. PDF file at bottom of the page. There are around an additional 100 WW2 names not to mention apprximately 50 Pre War and 120+ Post War names. MMP Books cheers Kevin

Didn't see 'Tintagel' in your lists, Kevin, so might be of Interest. Churchill OKE Flamethrower: Ïåõîòíûé òàíê Mk IV «×åð÷èëëü» (A22) T number visible too. T32649, I think.

I thought it was there, but will make sure it is on or version 3. TINTAGEL was taken on by 14th Canadian Armoured Regiment, The Calgary Regiment as BOAR. The census number does look like T32649 on the side but T32049 on the rear plate. cheers Kevin
Version 3 of the Allied Vehicle Names and Census Number Listing covering Pre, WWII and Post War names. Just follow the direct link to the PDF files. http://mmpbooks.biz/mmp/tables/Vehicle_Names_V3.pdf Thanks to Von Poop for the updated link. cheers Kevin
Vehicle Name and Number listing updated. As always if anyone can add any additional detail please post them. We do have one error that needs to be corrected on the next update. There is correction to be made on the next update we have a Centurion at the start of the WWI section. Cheers Kevin http://mmpbooks.biz/mmp/tables/Vehicle_Names_V3.pdf
From 1 Lothian and Borders Yeomanry 1944 war diary. Now I know you have a place to post the info I'll keep my eyes peeled for any more I come across.
What sort of Scorpion would these have been? I had no idea that Scorpions were still in use in 1944. Chris
Going by the T-numbers these were all Valentine Scorpions like this one: TANKS AND ARMOURED FIGHTING VEHICLES OF THE BRITISH ARMY 1939-45. © IWM (MH 9308)IWM Non Commercial Licence They were used for training pending delivery of the Sherman Crabs, just like Valentine DDs were used in lieu of Sherman DDs. Michel
I don't think there was a "Valentine Snake" as such, just a Valentine tank using a Snake (piping filled with explosive, to be pushed into minefields). Michel
Hi not sure if this is the right place to ask but in a war diary for my grandads unit (the 1823 platoon of the 105 bridging coy) it notes him riding m/cycle 4854118. Is there a way to trace this serial number to find out the model? The war diary only refers to vehicle/truck models. It also says that the motorcycles were 'robbed' of parts around the battery .
I asked the computer to Quote the entry about three up, comparing Snake to a Bangalore torpedo, but it declined to do so, so here is my response! Yes, but a heck of a lot longer! Chris
