Now that I have joined the 'I don't know how I found time to go to work' Club, I have more time to devote to things I want to do. One of them is to be more pro-active on this site. I have several questions: If I find a thread to which I believe I can add something but the last post to it is 5+ years old do I post to this or start a new thread? I would think it is better to use the old thread to save a proliferation of threads on the same subject. I find quite often that there are threads covering the same ground - is it possible to post a comment to more than one thread simultaneously? Or is there an easy way to put a cross reference into the comment? Try as I have to search I cannot find a site 'Help' section or a Beginner's Guide - do they exist? Many thanks to those who work in the background and those who contribute so much information to make this site so good. Tim
If I find a thread to which I believe I can add something but the last post to it is 5+ years old do I post to this or start a new thread. if it has relevant info to your info i would suggest yes post in that thread dont worry how old it is if you would also like to start your own thread just do it dont worry if a like for like thread the MODS will join them up. if its in the wrong place again MODS will sort. use the forum search function and or google google: ww2talk then your your search criteria and you will get many hits Dont worry just post. Its your forum mate ,once you get cracking it all falls in to place (and yes you will spend a lot of time on here) regards Clive
Clive has answered your query more fully than I was going to. Just post away , if we think it needs moving we will do it.
If a response could apply to more than one thread - post the text in one and add url to other thread. At the bottom right of each post is a number to the left of Like +Quote Reply. Click on the hashtag/number and a pop up window will appear You can then copy and past the url in a reply as a reference. (Owen taught me that, many years ago, when I first joined the forum. I've a good memory for trivia such as this.)
