    I believe that many were made of all brick, when wood shuttering and concrete were in short supply and an invasion was thought imminent.

    Tom is right when he states wood was in short supply for shuttering; however brick was used as shuttering instead, so the pillbox is not built of all brick. From the pics it looks like a type 22 - the larger loophole on the right hand side, do you know if this is just damage?
