    Hi,
Help, I am after what battle he would have fought and died in, I have tried to look it up and I can't figure it out. He was in the Royal Artillery,73 Medium Regt. and died 17th December 1941 and is buried in Tobruk.
    Many thanks, you brainy lot!

He died of wounds, that makes it slightly more difficult

As noted in the other thread, they were an AT rgt after conversion in October. The regiment was split, with one battery supporting E Force and the other three supporting the main push in the North around Tobruk.

These three batteries had been in action throughout, and suffered casualties at various locations around Tobruk from ground and air action in the run-up to 17 December. Whilst these were not heavy, they were pretty constant in December.

As he died of wounds, and the names of casualties below officer rank are not normally given, this makes it hard to identify when he suffered his wounds.

    All the best

If he died of wounds presumably this would have been in a hospital of some kind, or even a field dressing station.
Contact cwgc and ask them where he was brought into the cemetery (concentrated) from.
