    Hi all,

My grandfather, Sgt Joseph Quinlan, served with 146 bty. I have uncovered some details about his service, but was interested to know if anyone else on here has any contacts with the regiment?

    Thanks,

    Ed

    Hi Ed,

Have you considered his regiments war diaries at the National Archives?

    Cheers

    Thanks for your response Andy,

I've wanted to check them out - but haven't managed to fit the trip in!

By Googling his name and service number (from my dad's birth certificate), the first hit I got was a record at the Nat Arch for a MM citation.

I visited Stirling castle's A&SH museum and obtained a copy of the book - History of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders 5th Battalion (91st Anti-Tank Regiment) 1939 - 1945 by Major Desmond Flower MC, and it confirms his award in some detail and some specifics about the regiments history.

Since then, I was wondering whether people had any connections with the regiment and whether they had any photos etc. as we have none - other than one of him with the MM ribbon (now we knew what it meant!) in his service uniform.

    Cheers,
    Ed.
