Hopefully someone will know what occurred here. I have a World War One trio to a Lieut Cyril Hyde Snow. He was in the Royal Scots in WW1. During research I saw that he was wounded on the 7th September 1940 whilst an acting Captain with the 8th Battalion ( home defence ) East Surrey Regt.
That date was I believe the first day of the Blitz. Can anyone who knows about the East Surrey Regt in that era have a look and see if the actual incident is recorded. He is on the casualty returns on find my past and its covered in a local Guildford newspaper casualty list which is quite long.
    Thanks for reading this

It was located in Aylesford from the end of August 1940, which is along the flight path from France to London.
