8th army

I am trying to get information about my grandad driver George Daniels , he was in the 8th army , I remember playing with his medals as a young child and I am trying to find any information regarding his service and medals he was awarded . He was born in Warrington Cheshire England and I was told off his sister at his funeral that he was part of the belson liberation any help would be greatly appreciated

 

Stephen, there is only one way to start researching and that is to send off for their official service records, these are ONLY available from the MOD:
Get a copy of military service records

You do not need any military details, apart from personal details you will need a copy of his death certificate. Once you know the units that he served with you can then seek out the relevant war diaries to get a picture of his service. Good luck.
