I am new to this site,so i will start of with hello to everyone! Iam trying to find anything about my Grandad. I know he served in the Royal Engineers in africa and was wounded at el Alemein. My father doesn't know much as my Grandad never talked about the war and he passed away in 1963 due to his wound taking its toll on him. To sadden the story his medals were stolen shortly. so here is my problem really, without his service number or medals? How can i find about my Grandad? Please help?

I man i never knew i draw inspiration from and a generation that will never be forgotten, shall never be forgotten.

Try first at the Royal Engineers Museum in Kent via the internet they will certainly point you in the right direction.

Jwappett, welcome to the boards and thank you for your grandfather's service to Crown and Country. Also try the National Archives and Army records. Good luck in your search. :)
