I've just added this attachment to the 'Unit Photographs' thread, which was originally based on this particular photograph of 84 Fd Coy RE, but I thought I'd also post it here as I'm currently seeking confirmation of the exact positions of the "D-Day 3" (Leisk, Hawkins, Sadler).

I've recently seen conflicting info with regards to their locations on here, so I haven't added them to this as yet, pending receipt of further proof.

Anyway, the attached is a work in progress... if anyone can advise of the positions of the 3 mentioned above, or any others from 84 Fd Coy RE - please get in touch.

    Cheers
    Marc

I've just returned from the IWM archives, and they have the photo of 1st platoon, 84 Fd Coy, in Uelzen, which includes Leisk, Hawkins, Sadler, and also Sparkes.
I have ordered a copy of the photo and will upload once received.

Nice pic Marc - I wonder if the building is still there for a 'Then and Now' shot.

Yes it is. I watched a German road-trip YouTube video of Uelzen, and spotted it as the car drove by it. I then traced the vehicle route against a map of Uelzen, located exactly where the building was, and found it to be the Amtsgericht (district court)
