    Jens,

    Welcome to the Forum.

It sounds as if the films you have possession of have never been seen before, at least in the public domain.

That will make them quite collectable and if sent to a proper Auction house that specialises in Military memorabilia, you should receive the best offers.

That is of course if you only wish a financial return.

If on the other hand you are interested in WW2 history, then you will appreciate just how many peole would like the chance to see these pictures.

I would then advise contacting a Military museum in Germany and donating them.

    Regards

    Tom

I personally think giving them to a museum would be a better thing to do, I think you can use it as a tax deduction (Might want to doublecheck if you are). Although I know nothing of your financial situation so it's your decision.

You can try these sites, I assume authenticity will be called into question under these circumstances.

Manion's International Auction House–Buy and Sell Militaria, Firearms and Historic Collectibles
Collect Russia Collect Russia Soviet Russian

Of course only choose 1 site, see which one seems to have the higher bidders and go with it. A majority of those using the sites listed above are buying for museums with others for their "personal collections".

I guess for higher sums of money a local in person auction is the way to go.

To be honest, I really have no idea, I wouldn't want to mislead you in anyway. Their should be professional appraisals you could get done, you should see if one can be done in your city/country to give you a more accurate idea.

That Rommel really wasn't as tall as I thought he was.

    :poppy:

Edit: You have a mix of items from what I can see which is good, and this was only from 2 canisters correct? Seems like you have 2 or 3 from a prison or concentration camp? It's nice to see you also have a few of soldiers, including Rommel just "hanging out", I really haven't seen many of those kinds of images from the German perspective.

Edit 2: Just giving my commentary while looking through the images, those road conditions were terrible, I can't even believe that "slop" was considered a road. Looking at many of the houses in what seems to be Russia, I could see why it was hard for the Germans to not burn them down, albeit by accident apparently.

    Jens,

Make contact with the German tank museum at Munster. I am sure that if you speak to the curator (or email) they can give you some sort of an idea.

30 Euros! Holy crap!! How much stuff have you collected over the years? I'd take some of that stuff of your hands but I doubt I would have enough money for all of that!

Taking a trip anytime soon? Germany might not be the best place to have that stuff appraised.

We can appreciate your position, and what you can sell them for would depend on all manner of things: what the negatives show, what condition they are in... and condition is very important. If they do show a lot of previously unpublished images of Rommel, my personal opinion is that you would get a better price in auction. But if you are in a rush for the money whatever price you get will be a compromise - on both sides. Otherwise you won't sell them.

As we've been willing to offer advice, would be nice to see even a couple of the photos.

Paul: The images, atleast the ones I have seen are in mixed conditions, some are great, some aren't. I will post a few,

If you didn't take them to your nearest reputable militaria Auction House I fear you might do yourself out of the best possible deal.
Seems there's a fair few in Hannover if that's where you are.

    Good luck,
    Adam.
