why paste in content direct from the IWM website?

A link surely would have done? They have gone to the effort of preparing their site, why duplicate it here.

And four whole threads with little credit to the IWM website for their data.

I have credited IWM in the posts
    pasted so people can read
    I hope that helps you

It doesn't help the IWM website since you've copied word for word their text, their images, four whole pages. They placed it on their site to allow searchers find their site. A simple link surely would have sufficed to direct readers to the IWM website, since it was them that made the effort of typing it up.

Sorry to be an twat about this but people and organizations create their sites in order to be visited, not to be reproduced in full like this. Especially a organisation like the IWM that relies on donations, I'm sure a direct visit to their site is of much more benefit than someone reading here on the forum.

I thought it was looked on as Four Phases. Is this not so anymore?
Maybe these are still seen as the main ones?

Much better, still gets one's point across, maintains the IWM's efforts.
People can click and read to their hearts content.

Otherwise, whats to stop us all copying and pasting in every website we find. Fill up the server in no time.

    Thanks.

Providing that the correct attribution is present and a link provided, I see no issue with the actual content being displayed on WW2Talk. There is no commercial gain or attempt to take credit for the material. If anything, it serves to help drive traffic and attention to the originating website.

A little nitpicky in my view.

Originally there was no proper credit and no link, it directed little or no traffic to the IWM, hence my post.

    Very mature icon change CL.

Copyrighted stuff - The Telegraph in particular, but also more generally.

Let's leave the moderating to the moderators. That way there'll be no danger of generating ill-will between posters over issues which are, after all, tangential to our purpose here.
