79846 Major Henry Robinson Young MBE, RASC

Hi

I have a Greece MBE recommendation found amongst a load of bulk medal recommendations I downloaded from the TNA many years ago.

Unfortunately as you can see, the top of the award is obstructed so I can't figure out which unit Major Young was with. The fact the "Coy" is mentioned and was recommended by CRASC 4 Brit Div would suggest it was one of these:

473 Coy RASC (Inf Div Tps)
21 Coy RASC (Inf Bde) 2 Pls 3 Ton
44 Coy RASC (Inf Bde) 2 Pls 3 Ton
509 Coy RASC (Inf Bde) 2 Pls 3 Ton



Does any one have a better copy? Does any know who this could be.

This does not come up on TNA Discovery when searched for. Maybe they couldn't figure it out as well.

Discounting 473 Coy as it was commanded by Major Glyndwr Jones who also got MBE. (WO 373/74/682)

 

Discounting 12 Coy as it was commanded by Captain Charles Frederick Sharp who also got MBE. (WO 373/74/930).

So it's got to be either 44 or 509 Coy RASC.

If I work this out, do you think TNA would be interested?

I would like to know what unit he was with at the time of his MBE award as it is not readable on the recommendation.
