    Incidentally - the CWGC has D/W - died of wounds - and 10d6m1944 as his date of death. It is therefore a bit unclear as to when he was actually wounded, albeit he is mentioned on p90 of the Regimental history of the 24th Lancers - "None Had Lances" / NHL - as amongst those that "were killed" on the 10th June. There is another difference however, in that unlike the other 24th Lancers that died on that day he was buried in the Ryes cemetery.
