Good evening, what is the composition of 779 corps car coy rasc in 1944?

Was this unit part of Company R.A.S.C which depended on the 4th Armoured Brigade?

I'm looking for information about driver BUSS Hubert Ernest who belonged to this unit.

    4th armoured brigade
    • 4th Royal Horse Artillery (rejoint en juin 1944)
    • The Royal Scots Greys
    • 3rd County of London Yeomanry (Sharpshooters) (devient le 3/4th en juillet 1944)
    • 44th Royal Tank Regiment
    • 2nd Bn King's Royal Rifle Corps
    • 5 Company R.A.S.C (Royal Army Service Corps)
    • 14th Light Field Ambulance
    • 4th Armoured Brigade Workshops
    • 4th Armoured Brigade Ordnance Field Park
    • 271 Forward Delivery Squadron R.A.C.

    Thank you for your answers.

    CORPS CAR COMPANY

The Corps Car Company provided vehicles and drivers for the Corps Headquarters. None of these would be permanently detached to other units but there are many reasons why a vehicle from the company would be visiting any of the corps units.

    Hello,
    I am looking for information about the 779 H.Q. Q.A.R. Coy of the 12th Corps H.Q. R.A.S.C. in 1944.

The driver Buss H. was one of them and was killed with 6 other soldiers of the 4th Armored Brigade on September 1, 1944 in Airaines. Was this company attached to the 4th A. B.? In the organization of the latter, mention is made of the 5th Coy R.A.S.C.
Is the 779 HQ a unit of the 5t coy?

    Thank you for your answers

I have the 12 Corps GS Branch War Diary WO 171/4055 on file but only from 1 May 45 to disbandment, there is an interesting Appendix J Folio 1 that could be useful but do not this as my research is post VE day

Best of luck with your research

Hello, indeed Trux had provided elements in response to my request (organization of a Corps Car Coy). Private Buss died during the fighting on September 1, 1944 with 6 other soldiers, including 5 from the K.R.R.C. and 1 of the 129bty 86 ATR. I'm trying to find out what unit he was attached to.
