    He would have landed as part of Operation Torch on 7th November 1942 with 78th (Battle Axe) Division.

    Regarding his marriage, it would have to have been before the 16th October the date that they embarked for North Africa.
    It was usual to have leave prior to embarkation when many men got married at short notice.

    That's along the lines of my thinking,I'll probably have to try and track down there marrage certificate at some point,
