    According to a roll now at the Suffolk Record Office at Bury St. Edmunds he was born on 15.2.19 and was a labourer (at) Boxford. (Enlisted) 9.6.39 . H.Q.

    " Died at Chongkai on 8.8.43 suffering from dysentery. N/K notified 4.10.45 c.o.d. acute enteritis."
