    To which division did they go after the breaking up of 59 Infantry Division in August 1944

    .59th (Staffordshire) Infantry Division RE 2nd line TA division formed in 1939 as duplicate of 55th (West Lancashire) Division.42 The division was administered by its parent formation until it became operational 15 Sep 1939. Its first active service was with 21st Army Group. It was broken up in Normandy the end ofAug 1944, although not officially disbanded until Oct 1944.
    No RE officially assigned until 511th Field Park Coy RE was on 30 Dec 1939. 509th Field Coy RE
    was assigned 11 Jan 1940, 510th Field Coy RE on 2 Mar 1940, and 257th Field Coy RE on 23 Jun 1940.
    24th Bridging Pln RE assigned 1 Oct 1943.
    All RE units relieved 22 Aug 1944. HQ division RE became HQ 59th GHQTRE in 21st Army Group.

    510th Field Coy RE 2nd line TA; [TA, formed ca. 1939]. 3 Sep 1939: (location?); embodied with 55th(West Lancashire) Division; relieved 1 Mar 1940 and assigned 59th (Staffordshire) Infantry Division 2 Mar 1940; relieved 22 Aug 1944. 59th Division RE became 59th GHQTRE [operated in support of commandos Nov 1944 at Walcheren]. Disbanded Sep 1945+.

    I'm in contact with a former member of the 510th Field Company who served and was wounded in North Africa. Are there any other former members out there?
