Greetings and Salutations I am trying to track down my father's units after he left Canada in 44. He was a Sgt. in the RCA, later to become CSM. He left Canada when 7th Div disbanded. . From what I see he was bumped around between 5, 6, 1, and 4 CITR in England. I assume he was in some artillery training position. He also had a war driver's licence and I have a pic of him with an Indian Chief motorcycle. I am trying to track him from his anti-tank battery position to anti-tank regiment to 7 division to England. I am also having trouble finding info on his 12th anti tank battery, 8th anti tank regiment, 28th field regiment. 7th division seems an easier history. I would like to find out more about 4 CITR as his records show he spent the most time there while being bumped around. (6th, 1st, 4th then 4CID ? what's that? and then 4 Repat and 9 repat. ) Any info on the repat units would be much appreciated too. Still trying to decipher the writing and terminology on the rest. I was born when he was 50 and he died when I was in my teens so I was left with no one that could fill in the pieces. Finally have the time now to indulge in history. I would appreciate any help you could give with regards to the 4 CITR location and info and the regimental info. Regards.
Send me a PM. I have the War Diary for 13th Canadian Infantry Training Brigade in England. 4th Canadian Infantry Training Regiment (4 CITR) was a part of this brigade.
