AWARDED A BAR TO THE DISTINGUISHED SERVICE OBDER.
    Capt. (A./Major) Colin Arthur Jardine, D.S.O., M.C., R.F.A.
For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. "When the enemy broke through a gap in the direction of his battery, he promptly gave orders for his guns to be dragged out into the open, while he himself took forward a party of .his battery to defend the gap while the guns were being moved. His party succeeded in holding back the enemy sufficiently long, and then his guns opened at point blank range with such effect that the enemy's attack in this part was entirely shattered. His prompt action was decisive in averting a dangerous situation; and throughout the day he showed splendid leadership, and his spirit was an inspiration to all about him of whatever rank or arm.
