    Philip,

Sorry I cannot help you with the War Diaries, but I take it that you are aware that the 43rd Wessex lost a lot of Recce on the ship that exploded a magnetic mine ( The Derry Cunihy ) and a squadron from 161 Recce (Green Howards) were drafted in to replace the losses.

I wonder if the Green Howards continued their own War Dairy as an appendix to their normal Regimental Diary?

Just something to bear in mind when searching.

A good friend of mine was on the next ship and was on deck looking at the ship when it exploded. It really shook him up he said. They then went directly to Caan.

    Regards
    Tom

As promised, Philip, here is the link to diary pages. It covers September - October 1944 during OMG and the Island. Anyone can view it, so hope others find it of interest, too.
