    Some interesting stats here.
Including the amazing fact that 41.15% of the Canadian male population between 18-45 served in the armed forces during ww2. British Columbia led the way with over 50% participation.

an amazing record for such a small population of the times - didn't realise that Quebec had made such a large contribution but then they were 25% + of the total
    and B.C. with less than 10% - even to-day
    Cheers

    Tom,

From the DDay Dodger book you recommended.... At the end of ww2, Canada had the 3rd largest airforce and fourth largest navy. Quite the contribution from a nation of just eleven million souls.

Cheers from just 4459 kilometers down the road
