Do any members have Information, personal accounts, photographs of the 30th Regiment LAA, RA (TA) during WW2.

The regiment was formed at Ipswich, Suffolk September 1939 and operated in Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire, mainly on RAF Airfield protection, until moving overseas from Liverpool on the 27th May 1942 to Egypt.
The regiment served at Tobruk, El-Alamein, Tripoli, Beirut, Tripoli (Syria). It then moved to Italy landing at Taranto 28th March 1944. The regiment was part of the 8th Army in Italy being allocated to the 10th Indian Div as AA support on the Adriatic coast and the advance by the 10th Indian Div along the Upper Tiber Valley via Montequilla, Perugia, Umbertide, Cita di Castello, Arezzo. The regiment then moved back to the Adriatic sector September 1944 for the advance on the Gothic Line. Winter 1944/45 was spent at Cesena, Forli, Faenza and the Senio River, later to Ferrara. After the surrender in Italy 8th May 1945 the regiment was on guard duties at Venice, Monfalcone and Trieste. The Regimental HQ moved to Udine in July 1945 and there the regiment was virtually disbanded operationally. Remaining personnel were posted to other units by December 1945.

Throughout the North African campaign and in Italy the regiment was equipped with 40mm Mk 1 QF towed Bofors guns and some SP 40mm Bofors. Gun Batteries consisted of 117,118,119,120,121, 320 & 412 throughout.

I already have the 30th Regiment LAA 'WO Series' War Diaries 1939-1945 from the National Archives and the regiment history from the Royal Artillery Association (archives) plus other information given to me by the RA Association. I also have a number of regiment personnel 'Tracer Cards' and some photographs from the IWM.
