    2 Irish Guards (Armoured Battalion) | The National Archives
    Reference: WO 171/1256
    Description: 2 Irish Guards (Armoured Battalion)
    Date: 1944 Jan.- Dec.

    A pre-embarkation list can be found appended to the diary for May 1944.
    This is not necessarily the organisation for the battalion as it started its campaign in Normandy rather an indication of how it moved from its final concentration area across the Channel. Some of the listings may be true records of crew/tank combinations. As the campaign progressed both tanks and men would become casualties and be replaced.

    See this link for information about tank casualties sustained by the battalion in 1945, for which no crew names are recorded, only rank/trade.
