My Dad. GDSM 2737369 John William Bonnewell was 3rd Welsh Guards. Went to Tunisia, fought in Fondouk, Hamam Lif, Medjez el Bab.
Then went to Italy landing in Naples.
Battalion was then mobilised for Battle of Cassino. My Dad was wounded in that battle. He returned to Italy in Rome and fought all up Italy and ended up in Villach Austria near Klagenfurt.

    From the casualty lists:
    Wounded / Italy / 17.4.44
    2737639 BONNEWELL Gdsmn J W

Note service number, I can't say which is correct.
