    ESCAPED FROM HOYESWERDA (FRENCH OFFICERS CAMP). DISGUISED AS A FRENCH P.O.W. THREE OF US MADE THE ATTEMPT, BLANE, RIDING & LILFORD AND AFTER BEING PICKED UP TWICE AND ESCAPING AGAIN WHERE EVENTUALLY CAUGHT AT WEISWASSER. OUR PUNISHMENT WAS FOURTEEN DAYS BREAD & WATER. WE WERE PHYSICALLY FIT.
