    This Warrant Officer was on duty at advanced Battalion H.Q. throughout the operation. His courage and devotion to duty were outstanding and his action in carrying out an immediate counter-attack against enemy who had penetrated the Battalion perimeter resulted in the death or surrender of all of them and in Drill Sergeant DAVIES sustaining a very serious wound.

    His cheerfulness and gallantry set at all times a high example to all ranks.
