On 22 March 1944 2723373 Guardsman S G ANDREWS wrote a letter home, in it he states, “Mick is in the hospital yet (Sicily), and I hear he is coming on alright. He has got some rounds on his chest, which makes it difficult to breathe. I suppose he has got some big blonde Yankee nurse and is bluffing the way!! I know him. I can’t tell you much more, Lily the censor is strict just now.” Despite this, I can find no record of Guardsman M GOODE, apart from his Squad photo.
Have you checked the casualty lists ? British Army Casualty Lists 1939-1945 | findmypast.co.uk I had 1 result for "Goode" & "Irish Guards".
