On the afternoon of 24th September the Battalion took up a position on the above-mentioned feature with the intention of attacking the PAGLIAROLI feature. During the time that positions were being taken up on TABORRA the enemy tried to infiltrate into the positions. Lance-Sergeant MORLEY who is attached to the Battalion Regimental Aid Post as medical sergeant found that a Spandau post had infiltrated to within 50 yards of the Battalion R.A.P. Taking off his arm band he found another Guardsman with a Bren Gun and ordered to accompany him and clean up the post. Placing the Bren Gun in a position to give covering fire to himself he worked his way forward and drove the post out with hand grenades. He then returned to the R.A.P., replaced his arm band and returned to his duties. I consider this to be a fine example of leadership and that his action materially helped the occupation of the position. Signed W. KINGSMILL, Lieutenant-Colonel, Commanding 6th Battalion GRENADIER GUARDS Granted an Immediate M.M.
