His name below, see attachment, in LIST OF FATAL CASULATIES AMONG OTHER RANKS , 1939-45 page 549 as 6th Bn. They were disbanded in 1944* ,(quote from page 385 - dated March 13) Their Veterans were to return to England , and the remainder reinforced the 5th Battalion and provided a pool of reserves.Accordingly , seventeen officers and nearly four hundred other ranks were transferred from the 6th to the 5th Battalion, a further two hundred went to the I.R.T.D. , and not more than eight officers and a hundred other ranks remained for the homeward journey. * On the 4th of December , 1944 , the Adjutant , Captain RC Rowan , declared the 6th Battalion formally disbanded.
