Hi. I'd like to ask, would the tank crews in the 24th Lancers and SRY during June 1944 have had any other insignia or unit badges on their combat uniforms other than the unit's badge on their berets? A cloth shoulder patch perhaps? Thanks!
You could try looking at these films - as they were setting out... THE 8TH ARMOURED BRIGADE ENTRAINS AT NEWMARKET TO TRANSFER TO ITS PRE-INVASION ASSEMBLY AREA IN SOUTHERN ENGLAND (PART 1) [Allocated Title] THE 8TH ARMOURED BRIGADE ENTRAINS AT NEWMARKET TO TRANSFER TO ITS PRE-INVASION ASSEMBLY AREA IN SOUTHERN ENGLAND (PART 2) [Allocated Title] THE 8TH ARMOURED BRIGADE ENTRAINS AT NEWMARKET TO TRANSFER TO ITS PRE-INVASION ASSEMBLY AREA IN SOUTHERN ENGLAND (PART 3) [Allocated Title] THE 8TH ARMOURED BRIGADE ENTRAINS AT NEWMARKET TO TRANSFER TO ITS PRE-INVASION ASSEMBLY AREA IN SOUTHERN ENGLAND (PART 4) [Allocated Title] Mind you, talking about Normandy, in the field etc. 24th Lancers... There's also a mix of 8th Armoured tank crews in the films taken around Rauray etc. i.e. OPERATION EPSOM - CAPTURE OF RAURAY SPUR (PART 1) [Allocated Title] Osprey has: British Tank Crewman 1939-45
