I'm looking for the Regimental History of the Royal Canadian Dragoons, more specifically the Chapter re operations in NE Holland in April 1945. Could anyone give me a copy of this chapter.
Considering the giant amounts of research you have done and posted on the forum, I am glad to assist I will go this weekend if I can.
Thanks Seroster much appreciated … an mind the polar bears … … temperatures have really dropped in Canada, or so it is said in the news … .. and yes Canuck: "…"
Oh yes. I have been going to work while wearing: - Long underwear under my pants - Warm boots - A fleece on top of my shirt - A parka - A tuque under my parka hood - A scarf wrapped around some of my exposed face But, I think the weekend will be 15 degrees warmer!
Sorry, I am late to this discussion but I have at home a copy of "Dragoon: The Centennial History of the Royal Canadian Dragoons: 1883-1983" by Brereton Greenhous. I can make copies tomorrow, Saturday, and send them on Stolpi. Let me know.
Thank you for the offer dryan ... but Seroster is already working on it ... if he somehow doesn't succeed - e.g. hits an iceberg on his journey to the Library - I will be back with you
The coverage may be different. I was going to look at the postwar history of the unit in WW2 compiled by members of the unit. I don't know how much coverage will be in "Ben" Greenhaus' book since it covers 100 years.... but he was a trained historian. (Also he was a neighbour, when I was a child. That's how I know he went by Ben in day to day life)
Dryan - If you are refering to a different title, then of course I'm interested in a copy (events of April 1945).
Stolpi, I am not sure what you mean. Do you want the copies from "Dragoon: The Centennial History of the Royal Canadian Dragoons: 1883-1983" by Brereton Greenhous or not?
The book I will be taking photos from is Royal Canadian Dragoons, 1939-1945, Montreal : Royal Canadian Dragoons, 1946. Not Greenhaus' book. Stolpi initially thought we were referring to the same book.
