Doesn't help with your query regards the Burma Star but you did ask in your Intro thread about the 1st Wilts time in India. Here's a couple of extracts from Kenrick's history.
It should be mentioned in the service book you posted on the other thread - I think medals are near the back
I've had a look at one I have and on page 7 there is a section for medals (although there could be different variants)
Drat, an unhelpful clerk (or he didn't get any - but that seems unlikely with his length of service and years overseas)
Yes he would of had a least the Battle of Britain and the red one and maybe the defense one I would of thought
I suggest buying this. The Wiltshire Regiment in the Second World War - 1st Battalion :: The Wardrobe You can also search the war diary on their website. Edit. Merged thread with your other one from 2021. I noticed I already suggested buying that in 2021. Did you get a copy ?
Got my mind running here. Just went through my uncles Service Record No mention of medals will check with my surviving cousins, his children, to see if he claimed them. He went to India listed as being with the Dorset Regt. Transferred to 1st Wilts 13.4.44 in between he had been posted to South Lancs at Bawli, 1st Wilts Calcutta and 14h Army Signals. Would this be due to the 1st Wilts being a Colonial Garrison Regt stationed in India, possibly not classed as being at war. So clerical staff dismissed them.
