New member so please bear with me if this is the wrong forum,

Trying to trace info on a cousin who died 12-12-1940 Stalag 7B have his CWGC details and waiting for info from ICRC.

Have a photo of him in tropical kit, can anyone suggest where I might find a list of where the 1st Bn was posted to between 1930-1939

    Many Thanks

    The RB history states:
In 1937 the 1st Battalion was in England at Gosport, where it was reorganized under Lieutenant-Colonel (now Major-General) Jack Reeve as a motor battalion.

    Before they go to Calais:
The 1st Battalion had been part of the Support Group of the 1st Armoured Division and as such had travelled up and down England and across to Northern Ireland
    ... ending up in Suffolk.

Nothing on its inter-war service, though. Westlake's English and Welsh Infantry Regiments has their post-WWI itinerary as:
To England then Mesopotamia, 1919. Active during Arab Rebellion. To India, 1921; the Sudan, 1933; England, 1934.

The annual Rifle Brigade Chronicles would have fairly detailed accounts of the battalion's service; maybe these can be researched at their Museum (Winchester?)

Have you read Flames of Calais by Airey Neave on their battle?

I'd recommend Calais- A Fight to the Finish 1940 by Jon Cooksey if you want to know what he was doing in France.
