Hi. Some papers came my way back in 2004 relating to D-Day and my Uncle Derek. Amongst them was his fake ID (he was involved in some "top secret" work). This might be why both you and myself are struggling to find out more about him. I realised at the time that I was in possession of some serious stuff hence I donated it all to the Imperial War Museum, something I now in some way regret. I wish I had kept copies...

    Hi Frank
Thank you for your post and invitation. I live in West Sussex (UK) and cannot travel alone. I have long suspected that Derek could possibly be my real father, so recovering information about him is really important to me. Ive been left with many unanswered questions in my personal life which Im struggling to come to terms with. Websites all seem to want costly subscriptions in order to access anything, something I can't afford. Therefore any information that can be shared with me would be greatly appreciated. My family all died either before I was born or when I was very young. They did relocate from Bovisand to Buckhurst Hill in Essex. The Leeming side of the family came from London I believe, and the Passmores from Devon/Cornwall.
    Kind regards, Penny.

    Penny.

You need to get hold of a copy of his Service Record. Threads on here will show you how.

The cap badge that he, and all the other Officers, in the photo are wearing is not that for 5 Mahratta LI. It looks more Intelligence Corps to me.

    Regards

    Frank
